After construction began in June 2023 and with a festive inauguration planned for early September, the Valléen cable car is finally ready for this winter. This cable car directly connects Fayet station to the resort, a rare installation in France. It cuts travel time in half and reduces CO2 emissions by 12 to 15%. The Poma cabins, with a capacity of 10 seats, can transport up to 1200 people per hour.

Additionally, for the 2024/2025 season, the second section of the lift connecting Saint-Gervais to Bettex will be operational. This plateau, perched at an altitude of 1450 meters, offers a stunning panorama of Mont Blanc. Construction of this section began in April and is expected to be completed by December this year. It aims to replace the existing ski lifts with new cable cars. This DMC (double monocable), the second of its kind in France, dates back to 1984 and was already renovated in 2013. Originally scheduled for 2039, this renovation was brought forward thanks to the construction of the Valléen cable car. Despite the improvements, the new version remains faithful to the history of the resort, with structural elements preserved and pylons installed in the location of the Heckel peripheral, inaugurated in 1936.

At the end of November 2024, the official account of the Saint-Gervais resort posted some photos of the Vendéen and the Alpin:

With these new developments, accessing the resort will be more convenient than ever this winter!
